Note: Open Czech National Championships - it is possible to participate in specific separate dance as well;
each age group championship is evaluated as multi dance (combination of all dances) though. Paso doble will be included for older categories than Junior I.

1. General Rules

1.1. Judging System used for SUT Competitions - Skating System.

1.2. Everything What is not covered by SUT Rules is better to consult with the organizers.

1.3. Solo & Duo Dance Competitions are performed in the same way as the accepted couple dance competitions.

The difference being that all dancers perform alone. Each competition will be presented as a one dance competition.

1.4. All figures can be danced by both male and female dancers even though competitions for males and females are separate.

Creative non syllabus figures can also be danced so long as they are kept within the style and character of the dance being performed.

1.5. The numbers must be placed on the front of the body or on the left hip so that the numbers are clearly visible to all judges.

2. Age groups and Categories:

2.1. Solo & Duo Competitions are organized for the following categories:

2.1.1. Mini Kids

2.1.2. Kids I

2.1.3. Kids II

2.1.4. Junior I

2.1.5. Junior II

2.1.6. Youth

2.1.7. Adults


2.2. Some age groups are allowed to compete in competition designated to higher age groups:

2.2.1. Mini Kids can compete in Kids I category

2.2.2. Kids I can compete in Kids II category

2.2.3. Kids II can compete in Junior I category

2.2.2. Junior I can compete in Junior II category

2.2.4. Junior II can compete in Youth category

2.2.5. Youth can compete in Adult category


Age groups:

Mini Kids reach 7th birthday or less in this calendar year

Kids I reach 8th and 9th birthday in this calendar year

Kids II reach 10th and 11th birthday in this calendar year

Junior I reach 12th and 13th birthday in this calendar year

Junior II reach 14th and 15th birthday in this calendar year

Youth reach 16thto 20th birthday in this calendar year

Adult reach 19th birthday or over in this calendar year


Note: While younger dancers may dance ‘up’ to the next older age group, the reverse is not possible, older dancers may not dance ‘down’ to a younger age group.


3. Disciplines and Dances:

3.1. Standard Dances: Waltz, Tango, Viennese Waltz, Slow Foxtrot and Quickstep

3.2. Latin American Dances: Samba, Cha-Cha-Cha, Rumba, Paso Doble and Jive

3.3. Caribbean Dances: Salsa, Bachata and Merengue

4. Dress Regulations:

4.1. Dance costumes must be well fitted, age appropriate and tasteful. All participats must follow the SUT Dress Regulations.

4.2. Make-Up all participating couples must follow the SUT Regulations for Sport Competitions.
